Experience

The Company’s team has over 20 years experience working in the cabinetry industry from managing retail sales, home design and installations to providing extensive remodeling construction services. Bob Hanratta has 20 years experience in residential construction and real estate development. Bob graduated from James Madison University and served as an officer in the Marine Corps on active duty and in the reserves for 13 years. In 1992 after serving as a Marine Corps Captain in Operation Desert Storm he left active duty and founded Capitol Insulation. After selling that business Bob began building custom homes as well as developing real estate in the Richmond area and Outer Banks of North Carolina. Bob is a licensed Class A building contractor.

Matt Duke has 15 years experience in residential construction and land development. He is a licensed Class A building contractor through Duke Management Services, Inc., a family run real estate management company that operates 6 self-storage facilities in VA and FL as well as EZBOX portable storage. Matt graduated in 1993 from the College of Charleston with a B.S in Business Administration, has been married for 19 years and has 2 sons.

Roman Smelyansky –, Lead Installer and Master Craftsman. Roman’s commitment to quality and appreciation for perfection are a reflection of his unique upbringing. The son of a nuclear engineer and a biochemical engineer, Roman was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. An early interest in working with his hands led Roman into apprenticeships at two historically significant sites in the city, the Winter Palace Museum and the Petergoff Palace. During these internships Roman learned from old world Master Craftsmen. This is where Roman’s initial impressions were formed, where his appreciation for quality was born. He adopted the values of the men who taught him, their appreciation and their love for their trade. Their commitment to their finished product was not an option – the czars who hired them accepted only the best results. Roman left Russia with not only experience in fine furniture restoration and architectural millwork, but with the ideals of the men who passed their trade to him.

Roman relocated to America in 1996 and was immediately intrigued with Richmond’s history and architectural style. He gained employment with Steeber and Father Restoration, working on homes in the near West End to the Northern Neck.

When it’s built by Roman, it’s flawless.

Luis Garcia, Designer, has 7 years experience in home improvement and kitchen design. He has been married for 13 years and has 2 young boys.
